Request For Power: Update
-August 11, 2001-
With Bid For Power partially/somewhat/happily out of the way, Request For Power can finally take the stage. Yes, while it seems Grope For Power(no homepage available at this time) will have it's final release before RFP's, the high amount of quality and overall WONDER that will come from the soon-to-be greatest Civnet mod ever shall be much, much better.
First off, let me begin by going over the civilization changes. There will be 5 available: "The SAYANZ", "Teh NAMECKZ", "normal humenz", "THE ADRODS", and "VAGITA". Unlike the stinky Bid For Power, RFP levels the playing field with every possible race from the Dragonball series you could ever want to manipulate! Think of the endless hours of fun. The "VAGITA" civilization is still in the experimental stages, though, and is currently being tested by my hired playtesters/some guys I knew to see if it really counts as a civilization... personally, I don't see what the problem is. A poll was taken monthes ago by you, the fans, to see what you wanted, and "VAGITA" was the #1 answer, so we're just giving you what you want. Unlike Bid For Power.
Next, the music. Civnet normally used music CDs for the audio, so we reached a bit of a problem when deciding on a method of creating custom music. So we came up with a solution: MIDIs! After downloading a couple from Daizenshuu EX, we had our whole soundtrack ready. Next, my hired programmer/guy from Denny's began working hard on hacking the game's programming to use MIDIs. Said he had to "change the C-Central BIOS Flangelor to a 3.4 dot level ASSI" or something. Anyway, once that was done, we had our "soundtrack".
 From day 1, I made it my priority to provide RFP with the best PC graphics available. That's why I hired Mike to help me out. Unfortunately, that didn't go so well. I presented him with my computer, some crayons, a notepad, and a six pack of beer(his requested payment) to do the job. He grabbed the beer and took off running. I waited for him to return for several hours, but he never did. So it was then I decided I'D do the graphics myself. The results look pretty impressive, to say the least.
Finally, the plot & setting. Being the semi-good writer that I am, I decided that I'd take it upon myself amung the 1,584 people working on RFP to create a unique story and enviroment, based on the great poll that was taken several monthes ago(you the FANS determined the outcome! Awesome, HUH?). So, here's the lowdown:
"Far off, on a planet called GOKUS rulz, the Z-Fighters gather to battle the ultimate evil, chee cee is hot. But, this evil is far too NEKED PICS! The entire team decides to split up and form armies, called the Z-u r dum. These Z-tihs gam suaks are the last ray of hope for the Planet gohna is hot ^_^..."
As you can see, I've made sure RFP is almost completely fan-driven. Be on the lookout, boys and girls... RFP is coming. In several years. Hopefully.
If not, there's always Grope For Power.
